Abu Dhabi Travel

Abu Dhabi is the capital of United Arab Emirates. Its official name is Emirate of Abu Dhabi. United Arab Emirates comprises seven cities and Abu Dhabi is one of them, being the largest emirate by area and the second-largest in terms of population.

Abu Dhabi is also where seat of the President of the United Arab Emirates is located. Abu Dhabi in English means "Father of Gazelle". Abu Dhabi is bordered by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the south and by the Emirates of Oman on the east. On the north of it is the Persian Gulf and northeast is Dubai. Abu Dhabi became one of the oil producing cities in 1958 and is now the richest city in the world.

It is a modern and sleek city and it boasts its large gardens, parks, sophisticated skyscraper, international hotels and affluent shopping malls. Although it was thought of as more laid back than Dubai, its multi cultural inhabitants know better than that. Many people who live in the city are expatriates workers from different parts of the globe. The crime rate in the area is very low and its streets are clean.

Abu Dhabi is also rich in culture and traditions. Like in any other Arab cities, local women in the area are very conservative. If you were to visit Abu Dhabi, you should not worry that you cannot speak Arab because there are many people who live there that speak English also.

To attract tourism and investments, Abu Dhabi has gone through a lot of changes and it is still being remodelled today. The city is experiencing construction boom and is filled with newly constructed high rise edifice with a touch of Arab arts. It is amazing that there are also structures in the city that are made of gold and gems of different kinds.
